Find somewhere to serve

We want everyone who comes to Gateway to feel welcome and able to get involved at their own pace. We don’t have an official membership – to be involved is to belong.

We believe that everyone has a role and place to belong and that, for anyone who considers Gateway to be their church, we can all bless each other in serving on a team.

There are lots of opportunities to serve on teams; online, on Sunday mornings, during the week and at one-off events.

Please note, involvement in some teams is subject to DBS checks and references and suitability.

As a Church we recognise the need to provide a safe and caring environment for children, young people and vulnerable adults. We acknowledge that children, young people and vulnerable adults can be the victims of physical, sexual and emotional abuse, and neglect. As a Church we have therefore adopted the procedures set out in our safeguarding policy in accordance with statutory guidance. We are committed to build constructive links with statutory and voluntary agencies involved in safeguarding. Sunday Morning Teams

We have a lot of wonderful volunteers – people just like you! – who help in various teams to make our Sunday services happen.

These include set up and set down, PA/AV, children’s work, hospitality, welcome and the worship team.

Our Sunday morning services are currently at Norwich High School for Girls on Newmarket Road, Norwich and The Chapel, Chapel Court, Hellesdon. Sunday evening services are usually at St. Elizabeth’s Church, Cadge Road, Earlham.

Mid Week and Other Events

There are many opportunities to serve at mid week events, such as Life Groups and other one-off events hosted by Gateway. There are also various ongoing roles within the life of the church such as admin support and gardening.

Whatever your skills and personality, there is a place for you to fit into serving on a team.

Compassion Projects

We have lots going on in the community where we serve others; this includes Growkids, Babyjam, POLOs (Parents of Little Ones) and occasional other special projects, such as 1000 Acts and Love Christmas.

Without our wonderful volunteers, these would not be able to happen. Whether you can serve regularly or just help out from time to time, we’d love to hear from you.
